Talent show

Do you have a secret talent?  Do you want to share it with us?  Then why not audition for the All Saints Talent Show?  We will be holding our auditions on Friday 27th June.  Only one act can go through from each class so make sure you practise before you audition!  It is great to have a range of talents – comedy, impressions, sports, singing, dancing, magic or anything else you think would entertain the school!

Year 3 homework

Literacy

We have started to revisit our descriptive skills and will be using these within our fantasy dream stories.  We will be able to travel to any land at all in our dreams and for your homework, you should start to think about where you would like to visit.  Can you draw an image to show where you would visit?  Now write a powerful description for it.  This week, we have looked at similes, adjectives and some personification.  Don’t forget to use your appropriate sentence skills too!

Numeracy

This is something to get you thinking before we start using our understanding of shape in problem solving next week.

A 3 by 4 rectangle contains 20 squares. Can you see how?  You will need to draw a rectangle which is 4 squares across and 3 squares down.

Delicious recipes!

We were lucky enough to have a visit from the Foodcart today. We were treated to fruity chicken stir fry and a healthy version of creme brulee. Lots of you enjoyed the food and took recipes to try at home. Have fun cooking!

Dream jars

This term, as part of our Roald Dahl work and our ‘Healthy bodies, Healthy minds’ learning, we are creating our own Dream Jars.  In order to do this, we would like you to bring in a jar (such as jam, coffee, nutella) so that we can paint it and put our dream inside it.  We will need these by the end of next week (13th June).  If you have an extra one, then it would be great if you could bring it in so that everyone can have one.

Thank you
