In Year 4, we are creating a reading display to help inspire people to read different books. Can you think about your favourite book and choose one quote from it that you think will encourage other children to read it? We will be adding these to our reading display.
Have it ready by the first day of next term. You can comment here to record it.

Over the Easter break we would really like all of our children to master the times tables facts and the associated division facts.
This is only achieved with practise!
Children should be able to recall a fact within 5 seconds.
Use the grids attached and the ones sent home to practise.
These will be tested next term.
We invited a group of Y1s to test our games. They played the games we designed to help them practise their odd and even numbers. They were very critical and gave us lots of ideas about how to improve them.
This afternoon, Y3/4 held their Egyptian Experience afternoon, to celebrate their work this term. We had Egyptian dancing, archeology, hieroglyph writing, making Egyptian jewellery, making mummification films and creating scarab beetles. The children did really well behaving as experts and showed how much they’ve learnt this term.
Today we were treated to a performance by the Hykeham Schools String Orchestra. It was great to see so many expert musicians and it inspired lots of us to either start or continue with music lessons.
To help us with our classification work in Science, we looked at how to classify Liquorice Allsorts. We had to think carefully about the yes/no questions to ask to help us do this and then ate results!
What an amazing performance! Well done Y3/4, you really did yourself proud. Great acting and singing.
On Friday, we went outside to find out what happens during an eclipse. We knew it was dangerous to look at the sun so made special pin hole cards to watch the shape of the sun casting a shadow onto the playground. We measure temperature and light emissions too. The temperature dropped by 3 degrees while we were outside so we couldn’t wait for the sun to come out again!
Today we began our living things and classification Learning Journey. We went into the environmental areas to collect different living things to classify. We were very excited by the huge amount of frog spawn in the pond and have brought some back into class to observe over the week.
