Today it was the turn of some of Year 3 to take part in a workshop given by St. John’s Ambulance. The children learned about DRS ABC, how to put someone in the recovery position and how to apply a bandage properly. all of the children received a certificate to show they had taken part.
Here are some of the amazing caricatures that Kevin produced yesterday! The children have received a copy of the final comic too.
A selection of children in KS2 had the amazing opportunity to work with Kevin Sutherland, a Beano illustrator, today. They worked together to create a comic and he drew caricatures of each child. They look amazing and the publications will help to form work he’s putting together for the Great Magna Carta weekend (13/14 June). Keep an eye out for it!
We were very lucky to have a visit from the RAF today, who showed how their vehicles use hydraulics to move. We’re linking this back to the origins of pneumatics and how ancient societies influenced modern day.
Alice In Wonderland!!
Our fantastic year 5 and 6 children are excited to get underway with this year’s Alice in Wonderland play.
So we hope you will come and join us (on the 7th and the 8th of July) for a play full of thrilling adventures.
There are some amazing songs to enjoy and sing-a-long to at the end, so make sure you come and watch ; you will be dazzled by our awesome cast.
We’ve has a very interesting day learning all about basic First Aid skills. We practised putting each other in the recovery position and bandaging. Unforutnately it was always the adults who demonstrated first and I think the chidren were rather too keen to wrap them up and make them lie down in silence! We can’t wait to put these voluntary skills to use in our mini olympics.
