Creative cartoonists!

A selection of children in KS2 had the amazing opportunity to work with Kevin Sutherland, a Beano illustrator, today. They worked together to create a comic and he drew caricatures of each child. They look amazing and the publications will help to form work he’s putting together for the Great Magna Carta weekend (13/14 June). Keep an eye out for it!

RAF visit

We were very lucky to have a visit from the RAF today, who showed how their vehicles use hydraulics to move. We’re linking this back to the origins of pneumatics and how ancient societies influenced modern day.

St. John’s Ambulance

We’ve has a very interesting day learning all about basic First Aid skills. We practised putting each other in the recovery position and bandaging. Unforutnately it was always the adults who demonstrated first and I think the chidren were rather too keen to wrap them up and make them lie down in silence! We can’t wait to put these voluntary skills to use in our mini olympics.
